Florida USA Had not heard of it. Looks to have digitizing features and runs over 2K. I just dabble in embroidery so quite happy with my Stitch Buddy and Embrilliance Essentials.------

I have it. So far I love it. It is very easy to use. I'm pretty new to embroidery so I have not done any digitizing yet. Mostly I load designs and then modify them, add text, etc. I do wish they had more online videos to show how/where to do things. I went to a sales demo after I purchased mine, and that was like a class for me, and really helped me get started with it.Like other digitizing software, it is expensive. I can't remember exact price, but I believe MSRP is around $2200. I was able to get mine for less on a big sale at my local dealer. -- Edited on 5/28/13 6:07 AM -- Truembroidery Software For Mac Download Full------
Sewing machines make me happy. I like sewing with them, cleaning them, petting them, gazing longingly at them.

Missouri USA Thanks for the great info! I was just at a Floriani event where their Total Control software was selling for $1799, but is just for the PC. (Now that looks like great software, but I don't know that I need everything it does.)Skill: Advanced Beginner While I have a PC, I also have a Mac that I love to use. To me, the cinema display on the Mac and the other operating system features would go perfectly with embroidery digitizing and editing. That's what caught my eye about TruEmbroidery. The Pfaff dealer 90 minutes away is having a TruEmbroidery event later this year . . . hmm. ------

Skill: Beginner Any PC program can be run on a Mac with an Intel chip know (all macs since 2006 at least)-I use Parallels app to run PC programs on my mac.I am so interested in this-because my office and my home are all Apple/Mac. Since I switched to Macs in 2006ish-I have a hard time using Windows/PC-they're just so different. And on my mac-I have a lot more RAM, etc. Does anyone know if TruEmbroidery has a dongle? That would be amazing to me. I am probably being dense-but lots of programs protect their licenses without dongles-like Adobe Photoshop-so I don't see why we have to have it with embroidery programs. Sorry for the thread jack! ------

How much less?
Part of what I've always wondered about these is that even if you consider the cost of something like VMWare ($50) and a full version of windows ($100).. how does it hold up to some of the cheaper options like Embird (which still comes in under $500 including studio and font engine - which are the two plug ins I couldn't be without). There's been nothing Embird can't do so far that I wish I could do. There of course have been a few things I didn't know how to do until I learned how, but that's a different issue than the ability of the software. I prefer running Embird on my mac instead of a separate PC because I like being able to switch between Embird and Illustrator when I am digitizing and I don't have PC versions of the programs I use. I often find it's easier to make tweaks to designs from the source and re-import the SVG rather than trying to use the tools in Embird. -- Edited on 5/29/13 7:32 AM --

I really wanted to hear as many different points of view on this topic. You know-yesterday I discovered three embroidery apps in the App store-for ipad/macs. I bet you $$ --that some app developer is going to come up with an embroidery program-that's reasonably priced. Embrillance was the only decent one-IMO. The technology is there-I have Adobe programs-that are 10x more complicated than my TOL Bernina Designer software-and costs 1/4 as much. If it really is $2k-no way would I pay that. I'd buy the Embrillance app-and wait. I feel like digitizing software companies for consumers -are charging about 80% too much. Also, there are online digitizing services that you could use until then. ------
